7 a.m. on a Saturday

So you know how I’m not a morning person? Well, tell that to the baby in my tummy. The days many of you have warned me about are here, and I can no longer find a comfortable sleeping postion. Any tips? I keep hearing that it’s just to prepare me for when the baby is waking up several times in the night, but I don’t think that’s really fair. Shouldn’t I be allowed to get every last drop of precious sleep before she comes? I promise I’ll adjust just fine without this two-month trial run. Possibly even better since I’ll be so well rested. *sigh*

Jake took off early (yes, earlier than this post!) this morning for his first dirt-biking run of the season. He’s been so anxious to get back to biking. I think I may have created a monster when I caved in a bought him that thing. 🙂 *sigh again* I do have to admit that it’s fun to see him get so excited about it. I think he’s worried that once our baby comes, his biking days will be limited. I’m sure all you moms with kids are shaking your heads yes, but in my naivete I think, no, I won’t mind if he takes off for a day to ride while I sit at home with our baby, will I?  haha. In reality, I really don’t mind so much. I’m here to attest that the boy deserves a few good days off.

Finally, to end this early morning novel, I just have to share that Jake’s mom and sister threw me the nicest surprise baby shower last night! It was so sweet of them. They cooked a fabulous lasagna dinner and invited Jake’s extended family (boys too!). I don’t know how Jake always manages to surprise me, but he does. I had no idea! Everyone was so sweet and we received some awesome gifts! I’m not sure the guys knew how to react when I kept opening these adorable little outfits and all the girls were oohing and ahhing (men just don’t get it, do they ladies?), but it was great. Jake and I are lucky to have such great families.

Okay, I’m done! Are you still reading? If so, I’ll leave you with this lovely bunch of flowers that make me ache for summertime. *sigh–a third time*

I feel for you! Do you have a body pillow? That was my life saver. As for the whole bike thing after the baby is born, I see nothing wrong with letting him go. Mat does his whole golf tournament things and it has never bothered me. It makes them happy and then you take your turn doing something! You are going to be awesome parents and I can’t wait to see you & your cute tummy on Monday!

I got a snoogle maternity body pillow and it saved my life!! It was the only way I got any sleep (though it was still limited those last few weeks). My doctor also told me it was ok to take unisom (sleeping pill) and that worked wonders for me because it would knock me out even if I was uncomfortable. Good luck!! It’s all worth it!

I second the body pillow motion. I had a maternity one, I don’t know how to explain it while typing, but if you call me I can try to give you an idea. Mine seriously saved my life. On another topic, I think you’ll be fine with Jake going dirtbiking, because then you will be able to bargain with him to give you a girls night, or shopping trip, etc. It will all work out.
